Completed in the spring of 2025 for my Principles of Technical Editing Course, this assignment consisted of taking a flawed document and comprehensively editing it for an intended audience. I chose to direct the newly edited document towards Utah visitors and residents to inform them of the laws that apply to them. The editing process consisted of copyediting as well as both substantive and comprehensive edits.

My main goals for revising this document was to create an organized, logical, and eye-catching document. Breaking up the information into labeled sections helped improve its readability and clarity. I also integrated a color scheme to make the important information pop, making it more interesting to read. Additionally, by formatting some of the information into organized tables, I created a more scannable experience for readers.

This assignment was great practice in formatting a document to adhere to a specific audience's needs. By appealing to Utah visitors and residents, this document is now much more likely to make a positive difference in issues regarding alcohol and drug misuse in this state.
